PREVENTION OF TERRORISM ACT 2005http://www.uk-prevention-of-terrorism-act-2005.co.uk/s-3PREVENTION OF TERRORISM ACT 2005- The Bill was introduced in the House of Commons on February 22, 2005 and allows the Home Secretary to make "control orders" for people he suspects of involvement in terrorism, including placing them under house arrest, restricting their access to mobile telephones and the internet and requiring that visitors be named in advance, so that they may be vetted by MI5. An Act to provide for the making against individuals involved in terrorism-related activity of orders imposing obligations on them for purposes connected with preventing or restricting their further involvement in such activity; to make provision about appeals and other proceedings relating to such orders; and for connected purposes. enables a person to be arrested and detained by the police as soon as the Home Secretary makes an application for a derogating control order.
